This is the main problem on my own 65. It is so week that the door will not
open when you sit in the driver's seat. The whole tub sort of flexes down in
the middle. What I would really like is to find a replacement early tub, but
all I have looked at are as bad as mine. Installing replacement panels is
possible, but so extensive that it would be like the old Dutchmans pipe:
replaced the stem, replaced the bowl, but it's the same old pipe. So, where
does one start, and where does one stop?
I just open my wallet and look for the answer. Then I close my wallet real
fast and go for a drive. This reminds me that a car that runs well and is
fun, is better than a pile of parts that will have to give to my
grandchildren in 20 years.
