Fellow SOLer's
I am embarking on a quest to rewrap the steering wheel of my '68
GT6. This is the TR4 style of spoked wheel with the padding over the
spokes and around the horn button. The same style I believe was used
on the TR250's. I picked up a padding recover kit from TRF, and now
I want to put the leather wrap back on the rim (It is wrap-less now).
Does anybody have experience doing this? Any helpful hints or
advice? Tricks of the trade? I believe the leather must be fairly
thin as it is stretched tight and deforms around the finger grips.
Is the leather grained or smooth? I borrowed another wheel that has
the leather intact, so I know how it is supposed to look(kind of). I
need help getting there.
TIA,
Karl Theis
