You don't remove anything to lub the trunnions. There should be a grease
fitting just above the threads of the spindle. It is recommended to use
gear lube not grease here, why I am not sure. Getting gear lube in there is
fun. There was a article on the Web may be on SOL somewhere showing how to
build gun to load gear lube into the trunnions. I use a small hand held
grease gun which i only use for this purpose. I load it with lube and pump
it in just like grease the viscosity is heavy enough to keep it from
running out the botton of the grease gun too much as long as I work quick.
Of course the gun has to be unloaded as soon as you are finnished.
