Ignition problems

My otherwise wondefull spitfire Mk2 1965 has a problem or actually i 
have a problem. I cant start the engine with the key, I must press the 
rubber button on the relay beside the engine. I have checked four fuses 
the only ones i could find. The rest of the electrical equipment works.
Is the problem around the key or? 

Does anyone recognize this or know what it is.
