I think you'd have a hard time off the line. The Spit 1300 engine just
doesn't have the grunt the GT6 engine does, and it would be struggling
to get you going from a standing start. My guess it that it probably would
eat your clutch.

The Spit's low gearing makes it fun off the line, but it does scream at
high speeds. O/D is really the correct solution to that little problem...
