My spit failed its MoT test because there was play in the trunnions. 
This turned out to be worn threads on the vertical link rather than 
the trunnion itself, the stub axles were in fine shape.  A friend 
gave me a pair of vertical links in good condition, but the stub 
axles were shot. I put the good components together.
