I've seen these at British Motorsports (408.370.7174), Perlux (sp?)
ignition systems for Lucas distributors. They are two pieces,
transistor switching w/ hall effect sensor and a trigger collar that
drops over the cam lobes. Very simple and rugged, fits under the cap
and only two wires run out to the coil, no black box or cheap
connectors. According to Dave, he has gotten virtually no returns, they
have a 3 year warranty and run ~$100. Unfortunetly, they don't make
them for Delco dist's yet. Check it out.

Some months ago I followed a lead on some rugged new style
Electronic Ignitions sold for Porche retro-fit. To make a
"really" long, Expensive story short, I managed to talk the
source into producing a model for the TR6 Lucas 22D distributor.

This model uses an electro-magnetic pickup, so is immune to
grease/oil buildup and fits ***ENTIRELY INSIDE*** the distributor.
Other than an extra lead to the + coil for power, its invisible.
The transistor switching provides a more accurate and stronger
spark w/stock coil. It works great with worn shaft bearings.

I will make ONE bulk buy straight from the manufacturer in 30
days for everyone that's interested. The more, the cheaper...

And now, back to working on the A/C...
