Hi All,

Winter has been hard on my 79 Spit this year and it is time to
start looking around for
parts, etc. If it wasn't for the fact that I was involved in a
hit_and_run (on Thanksgiving, of
all days) I would start to think she was getting a litle jealous
because I have spent more money
on my computer in the last few months! :)\
Well, in all honesty, I love my little spit but in the winter
it seems that I
'tolerate' it more than enjoy it but now that spring is around the
corner I am starting to get
back into the wrench turning mode. I have read a couple of threads
about a break bleeder that it
placed above the master cyl resivore(sp?) and filled with fluid and then
attached to an air
source (like a spare tire). If memory serves, it wasn't as expensive as
one might think. Well
when I went to a couple of the parts stores and tried to explain what I
was looking for, I just kept
getting that 'stupid' look. Does anyone know where I can find one?
Also, what are your opinions on the attachments you can add to a hand
held vacuum pump to bleed the brakes?
Now to body parts. When I was involved in my accident, It took
out the drivers side
door and the part of the quarter panel right between the door and the
the wheel well. Does
anyone know of a good source to find a panel that a)won't be as
expensive as TRF b) won't have to
wait until '97 to get it? I am not opposed to getting a whole new
quarter but it seems like a
bit of a waste?!? I would like to try the junkyards but am afraid it
would be futile to find one
that wasn't already pretty well rusted out. Oh I think I have apretty
good lead on a door
(complete) but if anyone has any sugestions......
Well that about covers it! The only thing I need now its a new
soft top but I think I
got that covered (no pun intended). I hate to spend money on one
because once I take of the hard
top I only plan on having the soft top up when it is raining 'extremely'
hard. But I figure it
will allow me to take the hard top off about a month earlier!

Getting Excited!
TIA!
