Hi All!,

While contemplating the demise of my rear-end (see previous post), the
cars not mine, Something else came to mind. This is unrelated I'm
sure but what the hell, as long as i'm at it why don't I just do a
complete restoration  ; }

Annyway, before the infamous thunking and etc from the hub/shaft
(which I think was caused be the drum hitting the edge of the brake
linings), I noticed that when I swithched the OD on it didn't go in
with it's usual bravado. It normally just goes in instantly but when
last I tried, is sounded as if it were going in slowly. I know how
hard it is to describe all of our unique little sounds but the best way
I can describe it is that I could hear (or maybe feel for lack of a
better term) the transition but when I would shut it off it would go
off like normal.

ALSO, When I would accelerate hard while in 3 or 4 gear with the OD on
it felt as it (and kinda smelled) like the clutch was slipping?!?! I
hate to think it is the clutch, I can't think that it would eat it up
in only 3 or 4 months. I did not have any problems while in gears 1 or
2. I also can't remember if it behaved this way with the OD off nor
can I go out and try it because of my axle/hub/trunnion blah blah blah
etc etc.....

Any thought?
