Thicksters--
Just got back from visiting with the Historic Endurance Rally Organization's
competitors in the "Around the World in 80 Days" rally. Their July 2nd
stopover was in Bay City, Michigan. Our interest, of course, is the Team
Thicko entry: the Hunts' red A-H 3000, alive and well and still sporting the
Thicko sticko on the rear wing.
As you may know, one Healey bit the dust over a cliff of some sort. The
other, dressed in Works livery, is still running strong. Two out of three
and still the eastern US, Morocco, Spain, the Pyrenees and back to the UK
before it's done. In the lead at this time is still the unbeatable Freddie
in his Hillman Hunter. Pre-war class is being led (ahead of old Lagondas
and Bentleys) by a '37 Packard limo!
What an event!!
