Ok I'm a 1275 guy taking apart my first 948.=C2=A0 Pretty similar , I get t=
hat.=C2=A0 But I am curious about pistons and crowns.=C2=A0 This motor has =
flat top pistons that come right up to the head gasket surface on the block=
.=C2=A0 Just pulled the head and have not flipped it over to pull the pan.S=
o far=C2=A0 it had tubular push rods , Isky valve springs & alloy retainers=
and the old style copper competition head gasket.=C2=A0 =C2=A0I think I'm =
onto something here!=C2=A0=C2=A0Flywheel was lightened with a matched balan=
ced pressure plate.=C2=A0 There's a lot here that tells me this may be a pr=
etty interesting engine once I get to the cam and bottom end hardware. So ar=
e 948 pistons flat top or dished?=C2=A0There are no valve reliefs on the pi=
ston tops.ChuckStarting another interesting project...
