I find a Power Probe invaluable in tracing these kinds of problems=20
because it has a buzzer. The cheaper one makes a steady buzz for=20
continuity and a warbling buzz for voltage >6v. So you can poke around=20
and just listen to the buzz. The more expensive one will also tell you=20
amount of voltage, not just presence, but I have not tried one. They=20
have a lot more wires and complication.
