Mike- Check (replace) the coil- These symptoms are identical to what happened
to me and my '60 Bugeye- easy start, no problem idle, but would not run
otherwise. It was a head scratcher for a while. I kept replacing things with
no effect, until I replaced the coil- Bam! that was it.
