| Here's a recent story from Michigan about a grandpa who used cinder
blocks to support his car. He is lucky to be alive. He has a gash
running from the top of his forehead down to his jaw bone that's full
of stitches/staples and both eyes are black due to some broken face
bones. Don't ever use cinder blocks to support anything heavy -
especially if you're going to be under it!!
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
There's an amazing story out of southern Michigan that had a
wonderful outcome. Fueled by pure adrenaline, a teenager managed to
lift a

and saved the life of his 74-year-old grandfather, who was trapped
underneath. Austin Smith and his grandfather, who he calls "papa
Ernie," were at home trying to fix the breaks on an older car in Ida,
a town south of Ann Arbor.
The 1991 Buick was propped up on cinder blocks when it suddenly
collapsed. The

weighs close to 3,000 pounds. Austin lifted the front end high enough
for his grandfather to escape.
