To the List. . . .
After having two previous engine and gear box pulls to replace thrashed
throw out bearings. . and once again losing the ability to shift .. with
the same symptoms as before (T Bearing found to be destroyed). . . I
pulled the lump to find that the T bearing is, this time, in perfect
shape.
I am replacing the gear box with a very clean Rib Case that specs out and
appears to have had little wear.
I wonder why my 59 with a 1275 acted as it had in the past, same symptoms
as when the T bearing was found to be torn up . . (only chunks remaining in
the round backing plate). I had clutch pressure. . but it would not shift
into gear.
Could it be that the gear box was at fault. . or? A strange situation
for me as I had expected to once again find a thrashed T bearing as the
culprit.
