About five years ago, I spent an hour rebuilding a neutral safety switch for my
Cherokee rather than pay $700 for $.25 worth of plastic and copper wire. It
lasted about a month & 1/2, and I went ahead and bypassed it.

Years ago after my dad retired, I stopped to visit with him one day.
He was working on a ($2 replacement) part for his Metropolitan. I
asked him why he didn't just buy a new part. He looked at me and with
a dead serious poker face said, "Then I wouldn't have anything to do
today!".
