linda,
while as a design a fuel cell is safer than a gas tank , the cell is
only
sucessfull if properly installed. mounting and reinforcement of areas
for
mounting are very importaint. it's not as simple as drop off old tank
bolt in
new cell. also then remember the area between cockpit and trunk
(now fuel cell
area) would need a firewall instead of upholstered fiberboard
panel. this
starts a whole process or replumbing right down to fire
resistant covering on
any under hood rubber hose. you start to think too
deeply into this and you
get a fuel system more expensive than the whole
car...... :)
chuck
going to work now....in the '79 chevy van ....yup the
"lust bus" (l.b.1) still
exists with 447,000 on the clock!

Subject: [Spridgets] Fuel Cell gas tank for Spridgets.
List,
Who on the
list is using a fuel cell gas tank in their Spridget and why
aren't more
people using them, besides cost? I was thinking about it so the
tank is in the
trunk and not so low like the standard tank.
