I sold my 70 Kombi bus with 425000 miles on the odometer. The transaxle was
replaced at 425k new motors every 60 to 80K. But I had to replace the drivers
window mechanism 3 times!

Alas, all of the mini-vans look alike, with little to distinguish them from
the next make/model. That's why I'll keep my 1989 VW Vanagon we bought on
the tourist delivery plan (saving a full 35% and having a car to drive in
Europe).
We were sold on the Vanagons after owning a 1984 and 1985. The interior was
so big that we were able to take two trips from sea to shining sea, putting
each of our three children in different corners and telling them, "Don't
even TOUCH each other." It was also big enough to carry several sheets of
plywood or drywall, or sofas and other large furniture, or a couple of
Sprite engines. They don't make 'em like that any more!
