I have no patience, so have used this for years.
I usually do a courtesy bid just to alert people that I am interested; also
keeps the seller from getting discouraged. I've had them close an auction
early if they think there is no interest. ...bill

Another aspect is that, if you bid early, the seller may get one of his
buddies to put in a bid in the hope that it will up your bid.
Can anyone recommend a good sniping software - I used to use Cricket but
they went belly up.
