I had the wonderful fortune to have a fuel pump replaced last year on my Subaru. I routinely get close to empty as gas stations are off my beaten path. I swore after our ice storm of several years ago, where filling stations that had electricity to power their pumps were hard to come by, that I would remain 'prepared' and keep the tank as full as possible at all times. I think I will renew that pledge.
