| My pump died on the way to the dump with a full load in the bed of dump
stuff. Fortunately at the time, I had money . .I had just taken in a
windfall of 106k.
So I had the truck towed to the dealer (which is something I would not
typically do. . knowing that I am going to take a bath). As a matter of
fact I have never taken a vehicle to the dealer before for anything. . but
it seemed convenient to just get it done.
This is the soaking that I got (not to make a pun):
$600.0 for the pump and around $300.00 for labor. I paid them just under a
grand to have it repaired. The Chevy dealer, where I bought the truck, was
dead set that the fuel pumps cost this much. I had the money . . it was
done quickly and done correctly. . and off I went back to the city dump to
dump my load.
I filed this under, "anything convenient, you are going to pay more." But I
had no idea as to how much "more" I was going to get soaked for.
That will be the last time no matter how much I have in the bank.
