I bought a 130 mig from Northern Tool. It is pretty good for the price. I
bought a tank from my local gas shop it is really a one time rental charge. I
don't pay monthly, but exchange for a full and inspected tank each time.

Talk to the local welding supply re renting tanks. Now granted I have yet to
need to refill a tank but tanks need to be certified every 5 years. They will
not refill tanks that do not belong to them. Refills 3 years ago were quoted
at $30 a tank something like that. I think total outlay including tank rental
for 5 years was < $100. Simpe solution , works fine and lasts a long time.
I picked up a used Tractor Supply / Hobart Welder. Works fine. 115 VAC as I do
not have 220 VAC in the garage. Go with gas, even I can do a nice bead with a
little practice using gas.
