Preparing for pulling the engine-
1. At what point do you disconnect the front motor mounts? It appears
that there is a bracket bolted to the frame, a rubber isolator with 1
stud sticking out the bottom and 2 studs sticking out the top. It would
be easiest to pull the nuts off of the 2 studs on top, but it doesn't
seem that the engine can come off of the studs because of the way they
are angled. I can unbolt the brackets from the frame but most cars are
not designed this way.
2. Can you remove the starter with the engine in the car and the
distributor and oil filter adapter still in place? It doesn't seem that
there is enough room for the starter to come out.
