I believe Kate is talking about McDonald vs City of Chicago which the SCOTUS
has agreed to hear. See:
http://www.scotusblog.com/
As I understand it, the issue before the court is whether or not states,
cities, towns and counties have the right to pass laws that deny citizens
their second amendment rights under the constitution. Last year's Keller vs
District of Columbia ruling may or may not be precedent here since the
District of Columbia may not equate with a state, city, town or county. Mr.
McDonald is an elderly black citizen living in a Chicago neighborhood full
of drug dealers and other criminal elements. He claims the right to have a
hand gun to be safer walking the streets near his home. Interesting case and
as Kate says it could have very significant impact on all of us. I am
following the case closely with the understanding that we get the government
which we deserve....

In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a
shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress."
