It took me 10 years of trying but I finally got a speeding ticket in Montana
when the national limit was 55. The fine was $5.00 payable on the spot.
The trooper didn't have change for a twenty so I had to write him an out of
state check. Then we jawboned for about 1/2 hour. It's a lot less
contentious when the fine is only five bucks.
I still have the ticket: Emblazoned across the front in HUGE letters: This
will not go on your record.
