I used #10 bright yellow for my headlights, and #10 black for a new ground
lug on each side.
I wanted it to be easily identified (by me) in case of emergency.
Sorta did what Bill L said except instead of spade connectors at the front I
used bullet connectors.
Everything is easily reversible by simply unplugging the new stuff and
plugging the old stuff back together.
Had not thought of doing it to the heater blower - but I could use more
power there for sure!
And I still have 3 or 4 relays left, hmmm.... what else would be nice to put
on a relay?
My horns don't work anyway, but maybe I should get some and put them on a
relay?

Are you wiring gurus running "custom" wire colors, or do you have big rolls
of every British color combo?
