My local LBC reference and mechanic, Buddy, recommends using Marvel Mystery Oil
in the dashpots. My MG has a Weber so I haven't tried it.

If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others
here for?

Leo, I agree with Kevin. On the H1's the floats will stick, you need to
polish the shaft they ride on, and make sure that the inner side of the
float is clean and smooth. For the dashpots I use motor oil, if you want
lighter oil use auto tranny oil just check it more often.

Will Marvel Mystery oil work in the dashpots on the HS1's? Have an issue
with one carb loading up and the oil doesnt show on the plunger rod when I
remove it. The problem I am experiencing it that When starting the motor
almost seems like it is only running on two cylinders and after a minute or
so the "other" other cylinders kick in. After it is running for a couple of
minutes it runs great most of the time. A few times it starts missing like
it does on initial startup. Ideas and does the carb sound like the problem?
Thanks
Leo
