I just paid the most ever for a basket case.
The 67 that I "had to have" because my first Sprite was a 67, cost me
$600. A bit steep but I "had to have it".
And I could not find another true 67 anywhere on the internet.
So I paid top dollar.
Now a $4000 bugeye project is crazy.
I only have $4000 into my 58 Bugeye and it is very pristine but has
those price reducing items like a 1275, 5 speed, and disc brakes.
So I should have saved the original drum brake setup?
I do have a set or 2 of drums, lots of smoothcases, and a 948.
I can take the more expensive "goodies" out of it and replace them with
the original stuff and if somebody wants to give me $35,000 for it, come
NOW! Heck, I'll be extemely happy with $25,000 especially if I can keep
the discs, 1275, and 5 speed.
I'll just make another one just like it for another 4k and buy another
Jag or 2 so I have different colors to choose depending on my mood or
the color of my shirt that day.
