Bud, I'm quite sure this was all done very tongue-in-cheek. Nothing to take
too seriously -- like the correct temperature to drink your beer.
Sooo... have one and chill. ;-))

Subject: RE: [Spridgets] Laws for British Sports Cars
Here we go, again. While some people derive a certain satisfaction out
of perpetuating "the myth", my opinion, formed over 45 years of British
car ownership and experience, is that: if you have chronic trouble with
your Brit car; it is only because you and/or your mechanic are idiots.
Period.
I no longer sit/stand quietly by, when people spout such utter bullroar.
I've politely informed several friends, as well as complete strangers,
over the past year or so, that they are idiots.
Nothing personal. Nothing malicious. No offense meant to anyone. But,
if you believe any of what Mr. Krajewski sent out; you are an idiot.
That having been stated, I will confess at to least a couple of past and
future lapses into gibbering idiocy, when it comes to the maintenance of
my Brit cars. Few of us are totally immune from such occasional lapses.
Example: Last Saturday, I spent a thoroughly delightful day of driving
my Midget over about 200 miles of back roads in western PA and eastern
Ohio, in company with a bunch of MGs & Triumphs, and one very nice TVR
2500M. During that time, we were delayed three or four times by the TVR
needing to be massaged to correct "issues" with a couple of NON-STOCK,
AFTERMARKET replacement parts touted as "cures" for OE Brit car
components. Of the cars in our "fast group" (those of us who like to
move briskly, while enjoying the scenery & roads, rather than studying
them in excruciating detail), all but the TVR ran like clockwork. My
Midget has been doing that for the past 25 years, with no end in sight.
Sure, I've had to make some repairs, but, the car has always gotten me
to where I needed to be, and never left me stranded. Other than my
MGB-GT, it's been one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned, and
that list includes several Porsches, BMWs, Volkswagens and Chevrolets.
