       over the years i've found the following to be true..

       if you don't have a soundblaster brand sound board, you'll have
       problems.

       others come and go, some motherboards have chipsets, etc, but
       there are ALWAYS conflicts, no sound, the "fuzzies", resource
       allocation issues, .. something...

       you can get a soundblaster value edition audigy for not much
       $$$ and your problems go away. . .forever.
