Weren't you young once? I expect to have my kids repay me for what I did to my
parents.
Knowing not enough about cars, and driving my parents Pontiac with an oil using
327, and having driven it hard, stopped to get gas and checked the oil and
found no oil on the dipstick, I asked the guy at the pump ( another kid ) to
fill it up. He did. No, I don't mean that it went to the full mark on the
dipstick. I mean that it went to the oil cap. I drove it for the rest of the
night and brought it home. My father brought it to the garage and had the head
gaskets replaced and then mentioned it to me. I had reported that the oil had
been really low and I had some added. He asked for more details and I told
him. He made no big deal about it, but it was a lesson learned.
