What's up with that little crease in the frame rail? Was that car
ever wrecked in the front? That little crease, if present on both
sides, may translate into 1/2" or more of lost radiator clearance. I
don't think the crease is supposed to be there. But, I sold my Midget
and can't go out and look to see for sure.
How much clearance did you have between the fan and radiator at first?
Those plastic bladed flex and can move 1/2" or so at the tips just
from high revs.
A possible fix is to use a fan shroud from a Spitfidget, 1975-up.
That will add about 1" of clearance.
