James -
Forget removing the bottom support screws or bolts - just take the top bolts
out.
Forget about the hinge bolts, unless you have to remove the hinges.
I've always supported the front of the bonnet with a strap and towels
connected to either a winch hung from a joist or (now) with an engine puller.
Put towels between the windshield and the back edge of the bonnet. Then you
can remove the eight bolts, and with one helper. lift the back and either
push the car back or move the bonnet clear of the car with the engine puller.
I've done it many times this way.
Reattaching is the reverse of removal.
