At a breakfast meeting w/my local 356 group, this morning, I asked one
of the guys about his old Sprite (a box Sprite, of undetermined
vintage). Actually, I asked him if he planned to get it up and running
& drive it to the 50th Anniversary celebration next year. My friend,
who's about 6' 3" tall, and just recently retired from the Pittsburgh
Symphony Orchestra, has owned this Sprite for many years, and kept it at
his summer vacation home in Upstate New York.
Anyway, he told me that he'd gotten it running, again, but got hit by
some jerk that ran a stop sign. He said the damage wasn't too bad, and
was within his capability range. However, he decided to sell it to "a
retired engineer from Rochester". The car has since been restored and
the current owner has sent him photos of it.
My question: Would any of you "Spridgeteers" happen to be "the retired
engineer from Rochester"?
