Hi Mike
I think that _any_ of the 3 cooling systems will be adequate - _as long
as the radiator is in good condition_. You can't compare fairly a rusted
out, clogged radiator of one type against a clean one of another type.
I also do alot of freeway driving in OC and up to LA & San Berdo
counties. I have any original downflow radiator, which I had re-cored
with staggered 3 rows, and the original Bugeye shroud. I added an
overflow tank and an oil cooler radiator, and run a 75/25 mix of
distilled water/coolant. Over the past 2 years I typically run at
170-180 temps. Stuck in traffic I've never run over 200.
If you already have a later horizontal flow radiator (assuming good
condition), then I would advise you to not spend more money on a
different type. Maybe have your radiator professionally cleaned
and/oradd a oil cooler since that also helps reduce engine temps.
