I sent a roll bar for an MGB via FedEx by wrapping it in plastic, the 
heavy clingy kind used for wrapping stuff on pallets.  No box.  If it 
works for a roll bar, it has to work for a top frame.  They charge on 
the dimensions that a box would otherwise be, given the dimensions of 
the item.
