I had replied to Mike off list, but this may be of some group importance.
The "P" part of the BP6ES means "Protruding", as in the tip protrudes farther
in the cylinder. I would try B6ES in this case, or even 1 colder (B7 for NGK).
If something radically gets better, you know you're on the right track.
