Oh, here we go again....yet another "WST"
wherein the last 30 years of Cap'n Bob's
life prior to his retirement as a Commercial
Regional Airline Pilot just don't count eh, in view of what he chooses to do
today in his
retirement, personally and professionally.
Man, you guys never quit, do you?? :):)
OK....here we go.....
Cap'n Bob owned his first Frogeye in 1959
and has owned and driven MGA's, B's and
Spridgets as DAILY DRIVERS most of his adult life except for some of those
years when he lived in NYC back in the laugh a minute '60's when he worked for
Lorillard
as a rising young jr. exec in International
Sales Promotion & Advertising.
(He also admits to owning/driving a Fiat
X1/9 for a year or so before he noticed the
lower door corners rusting from the inside/out, at which point he sold the car
to an unsuspecting fool).
Subsequently, he became a pilot and commuted by LBC from his home in Stamford
to Westchester County,
Hartford, CT, LaGuardia and Kennedy for the past 30 years. Average LBC miles per
year averaged well over 12,000 per annum.
Bob's last LBC daily driver airport commuter (backed up by a "tuned" '67 VW Bug
for those snowy/slushy winter drives) was a Vizardized 1340 '74 Spridget
developing 90+ HP at the rear wheels wherein engine service life equaled 88K+
while running Yoko 185/60 008R's, Spridget ribcase and mainly 3.9 diff
(replaced at about 50K with a 3.7).
Today, Cap'n Bob (retired) runs his recently acquired '60 Frog locally year
round on fair weather days only, backed up by an '85 VW GTi used in inclement
weather and mostly in winter.
The top on Cap'n Bob's current Frog has seen no service in the last three years
during which time he has averaged about
5-6k Frog miles per year out of about 10k total per annum.
Thusly and therefore and be it forever known by one and all.....
Cap'n Bob has as much, if not more time "in
the driver's seat" of various LBC's than most.
So biteth me Mr. Fisk and I say this with much well intended good humor my
friend! <BFG>:):)
Cordially (to one and all),
Cap'n Bob
Big Bad Frog
Cap'n. Bob '60 :{)
