Leave subject blank.

In main body type "subscribe spridgets" without the quote marks.

See if this doesn't work. The prospective
subscriber should get a computerized response back with directions that will
allow subscribing if followed.

This is from memory (more than many moons ago:), but I think I've got it 
right....
