To clear that up, the ignition circuit goes from the key to the coil.
And with an electric tach the wire now goes from the key around a loop 
in the tach and back to the coil.
To hook up an electric tach in a Bugeye, just run a white wire from the 
key to the tach and back to the white wire that goes to the coil.
You can add this wire and still never cut the harness.
