Brilliant Colin!!! That certainly answers a puzzling question. The earliest tach reduction gear came off of one of the my earliest ( No. --513 ) Sprites and has the rolled metal band. Ron and I thought that someone had at one time taken it apart to repair, and then held it back together with a rolled metal band. We even thought that it we could see where a PO had "filled" the holes for the bolt and nut used to hold it together. Fascinating! Many thanks Buster Evans |
