Ya' know, Frank....

there's a weak link here, sorta like a new battery with a bad cell. It's starts
fine under
good conditions but as soon as the oil thickens a bit, that's all it takes to
do it in.

And the new battery looks fine under a standard static test....it's only when
you do a dynamic load test upon this part that the
bad cell shows up and all becomes clear.

I'm not suggesting it's the battery, just using it as an example cause I've had
this happen to me. Replaced two GR starters, cables, etc. before I thought of a
dynamic test for my "new" batt.

A "less than good quality" ground would have the same symptom. Usually works
fine
but gives up early in the game due to
thickening oil, 'cause this seems to be the temp. where big changes take place
in viscosity with non-synthetic oils.

Or a less than quality connection somewher along the line, possibly worn
contacts/ign. switch, etc. but I'm sure you've
replaced or at least checked this as well.

PITA!!! I'll keep thinkin'. :)
