Actually as some of you may remember a crude but effective EDM device can be
as simple as a wire.  Say, a loose wire that falls off the alternator but is
still attached to the battery post on the other end.  Such a loose wire can
quickly make use of EDM to cut through a racing Spitfire's front brake line:
