Front shock mounting

Should there be a pad (gasket type material) under the front shocks when 
mounting them on the frame?

I know Frank C posted what he uses for front and rear suspension bushes but 
I can't find the post.   Rubber in front, poly rear?  It will be strictly a 
street car at least for a few years.

Motor oil or grease on the bushes to prevent squeeks?
