I think Lawrie Alexander provided a better explanation, and I'm
paraphrasing, Councours quality is that which the car manufacturer would
have attained were they showing the car at a major auto show, or new
product announcement. Not necessarily just a production line run. Your 1960
Jag, while "original" probably (hopefully) would not have been featured at
a 1960 car show.
