Thanks Frank - me going to use that same approach when I finally get around to shooting my Bugeye back to Olde English White. With light colours I hear that you do not want to get a piece of dust stuck under the clear coat. . with stuff that you can colour sand the actual colour coat you might have a better back door if said situation occurs.
