[Fwd: will 78RB motor fit a 67 Spit box?]

will the motor from a wrecked 78 Midget fit the tranny from his 67 Spitfar? One 
might think it whould...

The earlier Spits had a 1200 (1197) engine. When they went to the 1500 engine 
they renamed the car. It became the "Spitfire 1500". It was also accompanied by 
the body revisions so I really think that the 1500 won't bolt right up to the 
early gearbox. However, I am certainly no expert on sh!tfires...
