I spent my lunch hour today at the Nut Tree Airport in Vacaville CA walking
through the only still flying B24 on earth. The B24 and a B17 were on display
and are offering rides for $400. I didn't have that much on me, but I had the
$4.00 it cost to climb aboard and take a ton of pictures.
The planes are operated by the Collings Foundation and are touring the
country. If they get to your area, go for a ride in a piece of history.
Their website is: http://www.collingsfoundation.org/cf_schedule-wof.htm
I did drive out there in the bugeye, so there is a dab of LBC content. Its 90
today and the aluminum radiator did its job admirably, no sign of overheating
despite a 20 minute run at 70mph on the freeway to get there.
