If the pistons are toast, heat up the rod around the gudgeon (wrist) pin
and drift out the pin.
Do NOT (or try not) to heat the pin as it will expand along with the
piston and you will get nowhere.
A simple propane torch should work just fine.
Remember, you are heating to EXPAND metal, not MELT it ;)
Use of a suitable deep socket in place of a suitable drift also works.
