I am doing a Bugeye and am thinking of just sanding it with a DA sander down
to 60 grit. After the plastic filler work I shoot a acid etching primer -
then I shoot two coats of a high fill primer, each one sanded with the final
coat
sanded down to 400 grit. Then I shoot the base coat and follow with the
clear. The clear gets sanded with 800 - 1000 - 1500 - 2000 - 2500 grit in that
order and then it is buffed in three stages.
All House of Colour products. I shoot the primer coats with a 1.7 needle and
the clears and base with a 1.4. A seperate gun is dedicated for the clear
coat.
Lots of work - buck heck, it is a small car. . not that much surface space!
